OUT: Please introduce yourself to our followers.
GS: My name is Gniewomir Skrzysiński and I am an ultra runner from Poland. I am 42 years and I still didn't say last word ;)
OUT: How long have you been running/ trail running? (why do you run)
GS: I've been running for about 10 years, and from the very beginning I am closely connected to the trails and mountains.
OUT: What do you enjoy most about trail running?
GS: Simply I love time in the mountains or on the trail, in the forest. Being alone just with my mind, my feelings, my body and all this great nature around me. During the races event I am happy to be around so many great human beings. Running gives my possibility to explore.
OUT: Do you have a memorable running experience/story to share with us? (or your biggest achievement)
GS: One of them is winning the Stumilak - a legendary 100 mile race in Polish mountains. Previous course record stopped on 36 hours. In 2018 I finished it in 29 hours ;) Also running in wild cloud forest in Monteverde (Costa Rica) was a great, deep experience.
OUT: How do you stay motivated when the going gets tough?
GS: I try to setup a smaller goals through out the season, seeing them like puzzles, parts of bigger picture. Also I keep that attitude which makes me grateful for being able to run every day.
OUT: What are your top three "little things" that you do to prevent injury?
GS: Proper nutrition and hydration.
Recovery as a part of training process.
Regular check out with my physiotherapist.
OUT: If you could give a single piece of advice to less experienced trail runners what would it be?
GS: Take small steps. Don't try to run too much. Smaller steps let you go further. Be smart and stay strong :)
